Suri talks about the Economy and Manged Print Services from ARC.

The CEO of ARC (Kumarakulasingam (Suri) Suriyakumar) stopped by the Seattle Sodo branch yesterday to speak with everyone about his feelings regarding ARC, the Economy, Technology and Managed Print Services.  The economy has been foremost on most peoples minds so he began by saying "We know the economy will recover, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel. our problem is we are not sure how long the tunnel is."    He went on to explain that we just need to remain healthy in the down economy until it passes. ARC has had to consolidate locations and trim down its workforce and overhead so we can be prepared for a longer tunnel if it comes to that.  The hardest thing to do in this economy has been to terminate employees, these are our colleges and friends that have been with the company for many years and it is never easy to make these kind of necessary decisions.  Suri  says that shedding our excess now will also help to strengthen the core of our organization and allow us to be in a stronger position as the economy recovers.

Technology

ARC has been investing in our technology sector of our business for the last decade and has built a network that connects all 300+ locations world wide.  Using iShipDocs allows us to offer print fulfillment for our customers nearly anywhere in the world at anytime.  Because document creation is done electronically it only makes sense to continue the work flow and distribution electronically as well. Print is still necessary but the need is diminishing so it has become more and more crucial that we have a advanced yet supportive technical infrastructural in place and we have it now.

MPS - Managed Print Services

ARC has always been able to sell print equipment to our customers but using a Managed Print Service approach allows us to fulfill any customers printing, toner, paper, maintenance and device needs on a single lease agreement. Much in the way that other large wholesale companies can offer better prices to their customers we can leverage our buying power to find the right device(s) and use nearly any brand on the market today. Managed Print Services offer great flexibly; our monthly assessments will tell us if you need to upgrade, add or remove devices based on your machines performance or your employees needs. You will not have to wait until your lease runs out before switching out a machine or device. Our lease will include everything that you will need to efficiently manage and maintain all of your companies printing needs, Oh yeah you will can also save a great deal of money for your company by using Managed Print Services - Watch the Video

International Dist. Shop is moving to a new location...

ARC-Seattle / International District location will soon have an new home in the SODO Dist.  The ID location has been open for 34 years now and it pains us to have to move from this great location "but the times are a changin" and we have to change with them.
Our new location at 2730 Occidental Ave. S in Seattle will be an added benefit to our customers because we will be consolidating the power of two branches (Reprographics Northwest & Olympic Reprographics) under one roof. Also their will be less confusion for picking up or dropping off hard copy.
A major portion of the production equipment and personnel has been operating and fulfilling your orders out of the new location without any problems, showing once again that we can service our clients locally anywhere.
We will keep you informed as to the final closing date of this locations and we look forward to joining our sister location to form the SUPER SHOP of Seattle.
Thank you all again for your continued support and belief in what we do for you,
ARC-Seattle/ID

Gull Industries in Seattle adopts PlanWell Collaborate

Gull Industries in Seattle started in 1959 and blossomed into
a network of more than 170 gas stations, convenience stores,
service stations, and commercial card lock facilities all over the
Pacific Northwest. In the early 1990s, seeing the domination of
that market by large global oil companies, Gull strategically started
to convert and redevelop their real estate properties into more
lucrative uses, including commercial, retail, mixed use and office
parks projects

The Gull Industries team today faces many of the same problems
any real estate management team or developer faces. Building,
maintaining and administering properties means site and building
information needs to travel fast. Building construction documents
need to get to the right teams when they need them. Delays mean
time and money. Gull’s contractors, consultants and employees
needed to more conveniently access property drawings. And they
usually couldn’t wait for an overnight document shipment.
That’s where ARC’s PlanWell Collaborate came in.
Gull Industries, seeing the need to efficiently get information to their
on-site project teams, thought digitizing all of their project drawings
and environmental reports and loading them on their network
servers would be adequate for their needs.
But during their research, they found that ARC’s PlanWell Collaborate
answered their more strategic, long-term needs.

PlanWell Collaborate is a cloud collaboration tool designed
specifically for the needs of project managers in architectural and
engineering firms. It’s simple to use, powerful, and does not require
weeks of training for users to become expert at sharing project
information, managing document collaboration, and updating
project teams.
The Gull Industries team immediately saw the benefits of
PlanWell Collaborate.
By placing their documents securely in the cloud, they’d lessen the
data load on their network servers. Adding a large plans archive
on their network would have required additional IT administration
and a more elaborate backup strategy, not to mention it could slow
network speed.
Also, by allowing secure, fast access to project documents via the
web, contractors and consultants on property maintenance or site
construction projects would never be delayed waiting for the right
information or data. 24/7, Gull Industries project teams can now
access any required document via a web browser. Gull project
teams can download, view and redline documents in minutes rather
than days.
Project teams typically change quickly, and Gull Industries
management saw that PlanWell Collaborate’s powerful address
book functionality would allow them to manage their entire list of
contractors and consultants more easily. Managers are now able
to create project teams for each of their properties based on
geographic location, project requirements, and specialized needs
in hours instead of days.
An added benefit of using PlanWell Collaborate is that Gull
Industries prints less. By only printing what’s needed and using
digital documents when appropriate, Gull Industries gets greener
and saves money.
In addition to helping Gull with knowledge sharing and document
collaboration, ARC’s local team in Seattle was also able to provide
Gull an on-site large-format printer when quick printing was
required.
If you’re facing bottlenecks when it comes to getting the right
information out as quickly as possible, check out the PlanWell
Collaborate website at www.planwellcollaborate.com and download
a free trial.

efficient.

Adobe Uses Riot Color

Adobe recently released Creative Suite 5, a ground breaking update to its creative tools that enables creative professionals and companies to have greater impact in the world of digital content creation by allowing them to design, deliver, measure, and optimize across media via rich product updates and new innovative tools and on line services.
To celebrate this launch, Adobe management engaged ARC’s team of color experts, riot Creative Imaging.
The goal?
To show appreciation to thousands of Adobe employees who contributed to the successful launch of the company’s
flagship product, Creative Suite 5. This suite alone produces over 50% of Adobe’s annual revenue.

The acknowledgement and thanks took the place of larger-than-life banners, window graphics and elevator graphics in three cities, San Jose, San Francisco and Seattle.
The reason Adobe chose riot Creative Imaging? Simple. riot was a one stop shop to create these colorful and image-rich signs. Printing, delivering and installing was handled entirely by riot The employee reaction to the signage could best be described as blown away. Employees were excited about being included in the external launch of Creative Suite 5. The creative imagery was unavoidable, vibrant and high-quality. Adobe would accept nothing less as it showed off what its products can help produce.
